General multiple choice question strategy
For Multiple Choice Questions, it is important to go through a process of moving from the bottom up, meaning you start by deducting the easiest ones first. I recommend this process: 1.Decide if the question is A.Deduction on spot question B.Deduction after confirmation question 2.Deduction – Look for easy wrong answers first Use a 3 second rule for deduction. If you cannot take it off in about 3 seconds then keep it as a contender, even if you are not comfortable with it Usually the reason it is taken off is because it was either just obviously contradictory or irrelevant. In some questions, it might also be too specific 3. Deduct the contenders next through: A. Confirmation - Use key & anchor words for location B. Being very critical with all choices - Be open minded to cross off everything and then start again. Often we tend to be most critical with the first selections (ie A) Use this process as opposed to looking for a right answer immediately because you are too vulnerable to traps or easy lures into a wrong answer. It also forces you to be more careful and to expend your energy with logic and more targeted confirmation so you will not over-read
