There are authorized places to take CELPIP, and although there are not many group classes or self-study resources there are a number of key advantages of choosing CELPIP over IELTS.
Is it the Right Option?
Many wonder whether CELPIP is the right option as opposed to other tests such as IELTS General Module for PR or Citizenship or IELTS Academic. The choices depend on a number of issues.
1. Do you mind taking a computer-based test? try out samples of both CELPIP and IELTS to compare. Can you speak and record answers without getting nervous?
2. Are you budget conscious? If so, clearly CELPIP is the cheaper option.
3. Do you want a more comprehensive test? A more thorough test should arguably lead to a fairer assessment. in this regards, CELPIP is the superior test.

Taking Classes
It is hard to find places to study CELPIP. There are group classes at GEOS and an online program by Paragon Testing but they are expensive and time consuming (GEOS requires 120 hours for $2200). Eventually some centers will begin to offer the CELPIP accredited program but for now not many learning centers are taking up the demands of offering it to their students just yet.
Self-Study
Self-studying CELPIP is a bit difficult, since the test is relatively new. For online information, go to the TPS CELPIP test page and get free information on study tips, and a blog with strategies, skills and topics and information on current CELPIP test schedule. Paragon also offers materials and tests but you will need to pay for it
Test Taking
CELPIP can be taken at Algonquin College and the University of Ottawa. . Look through times and locations and visit latest results or just go to the Paragon Test site.
