TPS - Finding a CELPIP Tutor in Ottawa
We are currently enrolling students for March 2021. Please see the programs page for online tutoring and the rates.
Online tutoring is flexible for times and can be placed virtually anytime from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm ET. If you are from Vancouver remember you are 3 hours behind.
CELPIP home tutoring lessons involve a free consultation at the beginning to determine needs and level. A more extensive test at the beginning can be arranged, however it will be billed according to the rate of a regular class. After the first class, 4 subsequent classes must be paid in advance. Lessons are 2-hours only at $60/hr or $120/lesson (each additional student is $30/lesson). After the first class, 4 subsequent classes must be paid in advance.
The first meeting will involve a free consultation at the beginning to determine needs and level. For a more comprehensive test, a student can opt for a beginning of course exam which, will be used as a benchmark for progress. The test cost is equal to a full class rate and a mark and analysis will be provided the following lesson.

Before the Meeting
Before meeting with your tutor, think about the following issues:
1. Your goal and timeline. It is best to settle what score you need and by when. Look up these issues in the Canada Immigration page, or in the educational institution such as UBC that accepts it, to see if they have changed the requirements. Make sure that you communicate whether you are taking the CELPIP for PR or citizenship or for university entrance.
2. Your time availability. This means not just your tutorial time but your self-study time as well.
3. Your strengths and weaknesses in the exam. You can get a better idea by doing a mock test from one of the links on our practice page
