Free Resources on Writing
I should say that any of the task 2 free resources in IELTS and TOEFL can be used for practice of the CAEL exam except that the CAEL writing test in an essay from integrated listening and reading. In any case, there are a number of sample tests on the official site. Check out the Secure CAEL sample test for the writing test. CAEL exam.com has a writing test which has just been lifted and altered from the official source.

Specific to the CAEL writing test is the official CAEL essay workshop. The writing video by Trent University is also good and Academic Noon has one of slightly lower quality. I will mention to those of you who don't this already. I am posting the CAEL YouTube video not as any authorized representative or endorsed organization of either CAEL nor Trent University. I have no affiliation with CAEL or Trent but post this as a way of saving my student's time browsing to find it.

How to Take the Writing Test and Have it Marked & Analysed
Follow this process:
- Use the sample tests from the official site and write your essay for 45 minutes
- Put essay onto a page or have them easily accessible on the computer.
- Fill out the form and press submit it. Then, immediately after send by email + attachment of your work. Do not edit your work before sending it in past the 45 time limit.
- When you receive your score and analysis, take the advice in terms of what your strengths and weaknesses are.
Speaking Test Free Web Resources
The CAEL test puts particular attention on the speaking test and provides a booklet on it but also a number of CAEL oral samples.. You can do a free pretest there as well on the test preparation site. Check the GoToWebinar information sessions schedule on the official site. If you are ok to open your wallet a bit you can purchase the oral test sample for the computer exam. Other than that, is the paid oral sample tests only Academic Success Media which sells some oral tests

Trent has a YouTube video on the CAEL oral test. A CAEL presentation deals with the speaking exam at 7.15. Academic Noon also has a video devoted to the speaking test
