If living in Vancouver, studying the IELTS test in your home is a wise choice since you can avoid the expense and inconvenience of traveling to a center. If you’d prefer to study the IELTS in the comfort of your home, with a tailor-made program, please check below for availability.
Please see the programs page for online tutoring and the rates. Online tutoring is flexible for times and can be placed virtually anytime from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm ET. If you are from Vancouver remember you are 3 hours behind.
IELTS home tutoring lessons are 2 hours at $60/hr or $120/lesson. During the first meeting, a free consultation with the tutor and student is conducted to determine a schedule and program and find out needs and level. After the first class, 4 subsequent classes must be paid in advance.
The first meeting is a free consultation and assessment of your level. If you require an initial full-fledged IELTS test in the 4 sub-skills (ie reading writing listening and speaking) to determine precisely the level you are starting with, the tutor can set this up in the 1st lesson (not consultation), but it is not part of the original assessment and will be charged at the tutorial rate. Analysis and consultation is given in the subsequent lesson after it is marked.

Before you register ...
Before you register check off a number of to-do actions.
1) I have looked at registration dates in the future and know when I want to take the test.
You need to do this before a course of study, even if you do not plan to take it in the near future. Test date book up quickly so get in early.
2) I have learned as much as possible about the test.
Go through the IELTS exam page at TPS. Do you know the parts? The scoring system? One of the best ways is to actually do a sample test.
3) I know my strengths and weaknesses on the test.
Again, a practice test should help here. If you have done the test before, be sure to communicate the results to your tutor.
4) I am sure I can stick to the time.
Check to see what is coming up in the future and be sure to let your tutor know if there are times in the future that you need to postpone your studies.
