Textbooks
The official CELBAN CENTRE Guidebook is really the only one worth purchasing. Outside of this, CELBAN textbook market is really only served by one author by the name of Kim Kara and she has produced a range books on CELBAN. However, in my view, none of these books are worth spending money on and there is plenty of free online stuff so if you cannot get a book from the library, make your next stop at some of the online material listed below
Websites
Here there is no shortage of online material and I will list only that which is of good quality and free. I have a preference for material that is
The CELBAN Centre is the official administrator of CELBAN and has a CELBAN Centre preparation page that links to test taking strategies and a readiness assessment pretest
Nurses Arena provides not just a world of information about the test and strategies but also some quality practice tests
There are a series of slides about the CELBAN parts done by Carrie Leggart on Slideshare They come in different sub-skills
- Contains practice tests (sometimes only so)
- Official sources or from non commercial organizations or community posting blogs
- If featuring strategies they should be non-gimmicky (eg "secrets" , "Score level 10", "10 easy steps" etc... etc )
- Strategies should be specific (eg how to handle task 3 questions of the speaking exam - not "how to score high on the speaking exam")

YouTube Videos
Probably the most material about CELBAN is on YouTube. There is a whole communtiy of individuals posting CELBAN videos so its hard to just pinpoint a source. Many of them are just individuals but they are of typically good quality, probably all by nurses. As with the websites I have a preference for actual practice tests, non-profit source videos or specific skill development as opposed to gimmicky secrets by learning centers and fortunately most of the CELBAN videos are quite genuine attempts to share nursing scenarios.
CCN offers a prior webinar now Youtube video as a CCN CELBAN information source. It lasts about an hour.
Shermaine Hazel has many realistic videos (35) some specific to CELBAN, others just good nursing scenarios
Scroll down the page under the countless number of videos you\ll see from Guru Institute and you'll see CELBAN practice tests who I blieve are also the producers of the CELBAN Blog videos but I could be wrong. I'm not wild about their videos but there e so many there that you are bound to find soething useful.
Abe Gaile Sarmiento has a number of videos showing nursing scenarions as does Regi Cruz
Author Kim Kara under her Dear Kim set of 3 videos that gives advice more than just practice. Her books are wildly expensive so anything free from her should be embraced
If you're looking for incidence report writing, Tyler Goedde has a 6 minute video full of good help
I really like Gemma Hurley's demonstration for history taking
There are quite a number of others so browse till you find something specific to the area you want more practice with.

Tip #1: The importance of parallel structures in report writing
When writting reports, there are often lists of actions, events and ailments being described so you will need to list them. It is in these lists that mistakes often occur
Eg
The patient complained of dizziness, fatigue and having a stomach ache
It may seem like a proper listing but in fact the listing here is nongrammatical
The patient complained of dizziness, fatigue and a stomach ache.
How to make everything parallel? Follow these general guidelines
1) Lump nouns and do not mix with gerunds.
Gerunds are a kind of noun but they do not mix well with non gerund nouns
Eg The patient felt tired, anxious and wanting water
Should be: The patient felt tired, anxious and thirsty
