TPS - Finding a TOEFL Tutor in Ottawa (Kanata & Goulbourn)

Online tutoring in TOEFL is flexible for times and can be placed virtually anytime from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm ET. If you are from Vancouver remember you are 3 hours behind.
For home tutoring, it is recommended that you have a free meeting with the tutor before starting. TOEFL home tutoring lessons involve a free consultation at the beginning to determine needs and level. A more formal simulation full TOEFL test can be administered billed at the regular rate. After the first class, 4 subsequent classes must be paid in advance. All lessons run for 2-hours and are charged at $60/hr or $120 per lesson ($15/hr for each extra student). After the first lesson, the next four lessons must be paid in advance.

What to Discuss During your Meeting with the Tutor
It is good to prepare a few issues and communicate them to your tutor in the first meeting including:
1. What your goal is. Different institutions have different standards for TOEFL. Are you aiming for an 80 or 90 or something in between?
2. What you feel your strengths and weaknesses are in the 4 sub-skills. This information will help the tutor plan.
3. A list of times available. have a few options - the time you request should be open but in case it isn't have a few alternatives
4. Your self-study availability. The tutor needs to know how much time you are willing to do for self-study. Be honest - if you do not think you have much or any, just communicate this.
