There is enrolment for IELTS home tutoring or outside classes from March 1st, 2023.
Please see the programs page for online tutoring and the rates. Online tutoring is flexible for times and can be placed virtually anytime from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm ET.
IELTS home tutoring lessons are 2 hours at $60/hr or $120/lesson. During the first meeting, a free consultation with the tutor and student is conducted to determine a schedule and program. Every class is a minimum of 2 hours at $60/hr or $120/lesson and involves a free consultation at the start to find out needs and level. After the first class, 4 subsequent classes must be paid in advance.
The first meeting is a free consultation and assessment of your level. If you require an initial full-fledged IELTS test in the 4 sub-skills (i.e. reading, writing, listening and speaking) to find out the level you are starting with, the tutor can set this up in the 1st lesson (not consultation), but it is not part of the original assessment and will be charged at the tutorial rate. Analysis and consultation is given in the subsequent lesson after it is marked.

Issues to consider before registering:
The IELTS is a test that is so well known that often people rush to a course without thinking of the following issues:
- Do I really need it? There are many institutions that do not require it or give other options. For example, if you are applying for citizenship, you can take the General L& S CELPIP for a much cheaper price than doing the General IELTS. Most Universities accept TOEFL as well. If I do need it, what score does the institution require?
- Do I know this test well enough? Knowing the test means understanding its parts, scoring system and testing style? If not, look at a practice test and try a sample of the parts.
- What are my strengths and weaknesses in English and which sections of the IELTS do I fear the most? For that you do need to do a sample test of the reading or listening, and for the writing and speaking you may ask native speaker to assess your level.
- What time frame am I allowing myself? All too often students rush to register but remember that it takes a few months just to rise by a half band. If you are expecting to rise 2 band scores in a month you will almost certainly be very disappointed.
