Nature of TOEIC
- There is no established TOEIC pass/fail rate. It is up to the institution.
- TOEIC test is a test heavily dependent on your functional use of English rather than acadenic Englsih. Even if you scored highly on ther standardized tests such as IELTS and TOEFL, you may find TOEIC study a very different process.
- A good time to start your TOEIC is after you finish your university studies and you are actively looking for work at oversas countries
Taking Tutoring Classes
The most time efficient and effective option to study TOEIC is with a tutor for abut 3-5 lessons. If studying TOEIC in your home with a tailor-made program is your preference, please go to the TOEIC tutors in Ottawa Gatineau page to see what is open.
Online tutoring is flexible for times and can be placed virtually anytime from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm ET.
For home tutoring, CAEL lessons are 2 hours at $60/hr or $120/lesson ($15 for each additional student) and every program involves a free consultation at the beginning to determine needs and level. After the first class, 4 subsequent classes must be paid in advance. Check the TOEIC tutor site for available times

Outside of the Home Tutoring
If you’d prefer to study outside the home, you can make arrangements to study at one of the Universities or Colleges in the Ottawa area, recreational centres or public libraries. For those that wish to study outside of the home, but still in a private setting, tutorials can be arranged at any nearby public Ottawa library or in the Central Public Library in Ottawa. If a room can be booked this is better. We do not allow classes in commercial enterprises such as coffee shops or restaurants because of the noise factor unless the enterprise is owned by the student.
