Taking Classes

There are centers right in Ottawa, the most reputable being Algonquin College but shop around for quality. Typically language schools offer roll-over programs that give non-sequential lessons so you could be at any point of a program. This is certainly convenient for the school and for the student at first but poses as a problem for both the teacher and student later because a good program should be structured and sequential. Check the quality of them carefully by looking at comments made by students. Make sure that you have computers in the class or in a lab to practice and an appropriate iBT TOEFL program to use.

Test Taking

The closest place to take the TOEFL test if you live in Gatineau is in Ottawa on 450 March Rd . Check the TPS pages on exact test locations and test times and dates. The test will cost you $245 and to register you need to go to the ETS website where it will give you different registration options and follow the directions.
