The high school teacher should be thought of as a partner in a tutorial and any program should benefit both assignments and assessments
Your tutor will always be a certified teacher. While an ESL tutor can help with reading/multiple chose questions and coach you on he literary terms, it is essential that a certified public school teacher teaches you the mechanics and style of the writing and be the one to analyze your practice tests.
It is a good idea to let your regular teacher in public school know that you are using a tutor and ask him or her to communicate what problems you may be having on stand-alone and synthesis analysis or compositions. Although many high school teachers do not see their role as being one for test preparation, they should communicate the areas of writing that you need to work on.
