TPS - SAT Exam Prep in Gatineau

The TPS base is actually in Gatineau so we do quite a number of classes in this area. Tutorials are more popular because it is a little bit tough to find group classes in Gatineau that are offering SAT courses, although there are a number of schools that will offer one on one tutoring. Self-studying it is not impossible since it is not difficult finding resources. However, the key issue is getting the right, high quality teacher and timing it with the SAT test.

Ask yourself before calling up to book a class whether you have the time and commitment to take a class. You should be fairly certain that you wish to study in the US and that the institution or program really requires it. It surprises many students to learn that many colleges are not requiring it any more and that they can take the ACT test alternatively if they are interested in majors that require heavy concentration on the sciences. Also think about whether you can commit to a class for length of time and what are the best days and times to least interfere with your regular life routine.

Educate yourself about the test and do a few SAT practice tests from links provided by TPS. This way you will not waste time and money with your tutor being told about the test when you really want to know how to do it.

Outside of the Home Tutoring

Sometimes, people feel more comfortable studying outside their homes, but still need a tailor-made program. In this case, tutorials can be arranged whereby students and tutors can meet at any nearby Public library or Community center. One area many of my students like going to is the huge Canadian History Museum in Gatineau. Please send us a request if this is a preferred option over home tutoring.

Taking Classes

There are a number of learning centers offering SAT in the area. Many are roll-over courses, enrolling students at no particular point of the program so lessons are non-sequential. This is a problem because SAT needs structure and sequence for progress to take place.

Self-Study

Self-studying SAT anywhere is relatively easy since there is no end to the free resources you can get for SAT. If you prefer the classic way of studying SAT with a book, there are many bookstores that sell SAT reference books such as and Chapters . You may wish to see what you want first and then order them on Amazon if you are hoping to study SAT within an economical budget. Before doing any of this, you might be better off just paying a trip to the public libraries in Gatineau If going overseas, you can find cheaper SAT books like Collegeboard or Barrons, and usually you can save a lot.
