A few recommendations before you start:
- Know your career path. Do you really need the SAT? - there are a number of US colleges waiving it.
- Do you have a preferred time and can you stick to it? This easier said then done.
- Do you know your strengths and weaknesses? A tutorial or self study program has to be focused on the areas you need most help with so know thyself!
- Where will you study it? If you want to either take tutorials or self-study the test, you need to determine where. Hoe tutoring can let you do it at home but you can study it in the library as well.

Home Tutoring
The least time consuming and most efficient way to study SAT is through a tutor. If you’d prefer to study the SAT at your residence along with a custom-made program, please visit the SAT tutors in East Ottawa page for availability.
Outside of the Home Tutoring
Tutorials can be set up at any public Library in Ottawa or in a community centre. Often there are some good spots at the University of Ottawa campus. Send us a request and we’ll set it up for you.
Taking Classes
There are a growing number of language schools opening up SAT course preparation in the Ottawa area. Research what other students have experienced with each program and whether it actually helped.
Self-Study
Self-study help is easy and very affordable since a plethora of resources exist to self-study SAT. I’d advise you to first visit the ithe public libraries in Ottawa and, if you feel like buying books one Chapters/Indigo carries the largest range of SAT books but they are not cheap. My suggestion is to find what you like and then see if it can be ordered on Amazon under 'SAT prep'. If searching for online SAT resources, try our SAT exam page and get information on study tips, and information on recent exams. You can also go through practice exams in writing , write an essay and be scored. There are external links to other SAT sites such as Major Tests a nicely laid out and accurate site as well as the established Princeton Review and another one more designed for non-native speakers called International Student.
