Many people in Gatineau preusme they cannot study TOELF without having to travel over to Ottawa but In Gatineau, you can still study and take the test without too much difficulty, although you may need to travel a bit to take the test.

Home Tutoring

TOEFL has a lot of self-study resources and you can find classes but most find both unsatisfactory. Outside of the Home Tutoring

For some, studying TOEFL outside their homes is a more convenient choice, but would still like a tutorial arrangement. If this is the case, tutorials can be arranged whereby students and tutors can meet outside. To do this through TPS, please send in a request.

Taking Classes

TOEFL courses are not as easy to come by as they once were and many of the ones being offered have questionable quality. There are reputable places that offer more structured TOEFL programs and although the quality is much better, they often schedule enrollment and advancement dates in a fixed manner, which may not suit your schedule so research team well. Check the quality of them carefully by looking at comments made by students. Make sure that they have computers in the class or in a lab to practice and an appropriate iBT TOEFL program to use. There are ‘free IELTS classes” at various organizations but they are often not much more than ESL classes

Self-Study

Self-study in Gatineau. Before paying out a few hundred for books, make your first stop at the public libraries in Ottawa . There are a range of books listed on their search under "TOEFL books" (Be careful of older books that are not iBT test because the iBT is totally different from the older paper based tests and the CBT.. You can order them on Amazon under “TOEFL books”.

The closest place to take the examination is in Ottawa The exact locations of the TOEFL testing centers as well as testing times and dates are posted on this site. I have posted current test as well from research on various blogs.

For those less familiar with the TOEFL exam it may be useful to visit the TOEFL exam page for study tips, strategies, skills and topics and also current exams. I have also posted free exams links in listening and reading. In the speaking and writing pages you through e-mail have your performance assessed for absolutely free. I also have some external links to other sites such as the ETS student brochure (pdf about the test) and prep practice (free planner by pdf) . YouTube sites such as TOEFLtv (gives many YouTube videos on the TOEFL test), While you generally need to be careful, since many YouTube videos on TOEFL are of questionable quality, Learn English with Rebecca and NoteFull TOEFL Mastery are reasonable and offer some sample exams.
