Free SAT Critical Reading (SAT CR)
Free SAT Critical Reading Practice
The best idea is to go to the Collegeboard official source first for both sentence completion and passage based reading practice . While it is tempting to leave these for another day when you feel more confident you do need to get a realistic view of the test.
There are a number of good free Practice sites for critical reading.
Major Tests give quite a few. They don't charge or expect you to register or anything. The quality is not that bad at all. Like the official site, they have both sentence completion and reading comprehension and give you 14 of each.
About.com under test prep give SAT reading practice tests in both sentence completion and passage reading. Not much - but it is good quality and well, - take what you can get!
Pro Profs does a great job of guiding you through it before finally letting you do the practice tests . It is a very democratic website getting contributions from a variety of educators so it is quite reliable.
Don't I wish that some day Khan Academy would produce some free YouTube videos on the reading and writing sections but they do provide practice tests.
This next one, called Free Rice is primarily designed for vocabulary building and has levels from 1-60. It is actually a charity and when you get an answer correct you donate rice to the hungry. Although not necessarily specific to SAT, it helps it and you feel as if you are doing something worthwhile beyond just getting a better SAT score. Start with the hardest levels and work your way down but do not be surprised of you get them all wrong at the highest levels.

Advice:
Note, especially in the critical reading, the style of the reading question. Is it a reading question designed to?
1. Test your general understanding
1. Compare information
2. Test your ability to make inferences
3. Understand your knowledge of vocabulary in context
4. Ability to know the mood or tone of the passage
A good site will often tell you what the test is trying to gauge. It usually should explain why you made a mistake however often you may still be confused. If you have made mistakes and you really cannot understand why feel free to send me an email or make a post to our SAT blog
