Registering is simple. It is advisable that you follow the procedure before you decide on a course because you may end up deciding on a different test after careful consideration. For example, many do not realize that there a second option besides taking the IELTS exam for immigration purposes called the CELPIP exam. As part of the procedure , it is recommended that you closely at both the tutor services and tutor courses page as well as find tutor page to see what is available and check time and dates.
Your first class is largely a trial lesson (but set at the normal rate of $60/hr) to see if you would like to continue. If you feel comfortable, at the start of the next lesson you generally need to pay for 4 classes in advance.
It is difficult to reschedule for classes as time slots are typically booked up during certain times of the year, so please be sure before paying in advance that the times you agree to have classes can be met. TPS is under no obligation to reschedule classes, refund tutoring fees or extend the program but will do so in emergencies. Emergencies do not include for example, dentist appointments, basketball games, visits by relatives etc, which are foreseeable through better planning. In other words, treat your slotted time for tutorials as sacred and unchangeable and not sacrificed for other events.
After the first lesson, if you decides to continue, the next lesson must occur in the subsequent week. TPS reserves the right to give the time slot to another student in the event that cancellations occur.
