How Much Does the CELPIP™ Exam Cost?
In Ottawa, like other areas around Canada, the CELPIP™ General Test will cost you a whopping $280 + taxes; the CELPIP™ LS (Listening and Speaking) at $195 + taxes. As a comparison to IELTS, CELPIP™ is only slightly cheaper, particularly if you take the CELPIP™ LS is for immigration however, it is not far behind IELTS at $319 (taxes included).
Cancellation and Resitting
The cancellation policies of CELPIP™ , like IELTS, are very strict and allow few reasons for cancellation. You must put in a cancellation request no less than 9 days before your test date and even then you will only get 50% back . You can transfer it to another date as long as you apply for it at least 9 days but you will have to pay a fee of $50. You may still have a shot at getting your transfer if you provide a doctor's note or proof that a relative has died but short of that, it is not likely to be accepted.
To contact them you contact their customer service number at at 778-327-6854 or [email protected]
To retake the rest but you will have to wait 30 days (1 week more than what IELTS alllows).

Appeal (reevaluation) of CELPIP™ Score
If you feel your score was not done correctly or fairly, you can appeal. Both CELPIP™ and IELTS seem to hide the issue of score appeals or re-evaluations. You do not get such information on it from the test takers section but in the FAQ section of the official CELPIP site. If you want to appeal, you do not have to have the whole test reevaluated like with IELTS. You can just state which of the 4 sub-skills (ie reading listening writing or speaking) you want re-evaluated and then pay the re-evaluation fee for that component. A few rules apply:
- You have to do it within 6 weeks past the test you took
- You have to pay the re-evaluation fee in advance
