Before Hiring a Tutor
Some issues to ask yourself before requesting a tutor are:
- When is the best day of the week that might help me on assignments. Am I usually required to hand in assignments on Friday or another day?
- Do I usually like doing my assignments after school or after dinner?
- What split between working on assignments and receiving tutoring on IB skills and strategies should I work at. Remember that no matter how much your tutor helps you will still be doing much of your work without him/her
- How much outside reading am I willing to do beyond my heavy workload
- What pert of the time spent with the tutor can be done by myself and what should be done together
