Expectations
If you are hiring a tutor to help you with your regular high school program, you need to think of what day and time of the week you can commit yourself to self-study. A tutor will absolutely not write essays for you, nor will it clean up major problems for you in your writing. You will need to commun9icate with the tutor whether you want the tutor to help with only ongoing assignments or whether you want a parallel program that has you doing similar assignments with other texts.

Before hiring a tutor always leave yourself enough time to prepare, You will want to practice 3 rounds of the provincial exam cycle - ie 4 step process.

Structure of Provincial Exam program
The Provincial Exam program is a rigorous 6 lesson program that has a student do 3 essays in 3 writing process cycles that emulated the provincial exam 4 day procedure
Lesson 1: TEXT 1: Step 1-3 - Concept Exploration,discussion, Planning, identifying variables, brainstorming
Lesson 2 TEXT 1 Step 4 Editing and explaining variables
Lesson 3 TEXT 2: Step 1-3 - Concept Exploration,discussion, Planning, identifying variables, brainstorming
Lesson 4: TEXT 2 Step 4 Editing and explaining variables
Lesson 5 TEXT 3: Step 1-3 - Concept Exploration,discussion, Planning, identifying variables, brainstorming
Lesson 6: TEXT 3 Step 4 Editing and explaining variables
For the duration of the program students are expected to complete 3 essays according to the 3 Text cycles, meant to imitate the actual exam. Short stores, poems and essays will be assigned and sent to students. It is strongly recommended that students read 2 long novels for the duration of the program to build speed reading, comprehension and writing proficiency.
